Ingredients

  • 6

    strips bacon

  • ¼

    c. minced onion

  • ½

    c. chopped celery

  • c. water

  • 1

    c. diced turnips

  • 2

    c. white corn

  • 2

    c. whipping cream

  • 2

    tbsp. butter

  • 1

    tsp. salt

  • ½

    tsp. pepper

Directions

Fry bacon until crisp. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons bacon fat. Saute onion and celery until tender. Add water and turnips - simmer until tender (15-20 minutes). Add remaining ingredients and reheat. DO NOT BOIL. Top with crumbled bacon. Makes 4-5 servings.
