Ingredients
- 6 tablespoon Butter
- 1/2 cup onion; chopped
- 1/2 cup celery; chopped
- 32 oz Clam juice
- 14 oz can diced tomatoes with juices
- 1-1/2 cup tomato juice
- 2 tablespoon dry sherry
- 1/4 cup pearl barley
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon old Bay or seafood seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 te tabasco sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 pound medium shrimp; peeled, deveined
- 1/2 pound crabmeat

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in heavy large saucepan over medium high heat. Add onion and
celery; saute until tender. about six minutes. Add clam juice, tomatoes,
with their juices, tomato juice, and sherry. Bring to boil. Add next 8
ingredients. Simmer uhtil barley is tender, stirring often, about 25
minutes.
Add seafood; simmer until shrimp are cooked through, about 3 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
