Preparation
Step 1
Buy as many GREEN apples as you like (the red ones dont turn out as well)... Then you cut them into 4ths and wrap them in the biscuit dough. I usually cut up a lot more apples and put them all around the dumplings in the pan without the dough around them. Trust me, they will turn out great. Put all the dumplings and the plain apples in a glass pan that is semi deep.
Then, bring to a boil about about a half a box of the apple juice here (Im not exactly sure how many cups that is, but robin and I used about a half of the box) (and I was nervous cause it was like the milk based stuff so I was nervous about the taste but it turned out great. In the States I use like 5 cups of regular apple juice). Add half a stick of butter and 1 cup and 1/2 of sugar. When it's boiling, pour that over each of the dumplings to wet them and it should fill up about half the pan and the dumplings will be sitting in the juice mixture...
Then, cook at 350 for 30 minutes or until the tops of the dumplings are brown... Right before you put the dumplings in the oven, sprinkle cinnamon over the whole pan.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and the juice stuff in the pan is really good to pour over the dumplings and icre cream as well......
ENJOY!
