Italian Beef and Pasta

  • 1 1/4 lb beef chuck steak
  • 1/4 c. red wine
  • 4 oz uncooked pasta
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 med onion, chopped
  • 1 lg garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 14 oz Italian stewed tomatoes, undrained, chopped
  • 14 oz beef broth
  • 2 tbsp parmesean

Step 1

-Cut steaks into 1 inch pieces. Heat oil in dutch oven over med heat. Brown beef, remove and pour off drippings.
-Add onion, garlic and seasoning to dutch oven; cook and stir 2 min. Add beef, tomatoes, broth, and wine; bring to a boil.
-Reduce heat, cover tightly, and simmer 1 1/2 hrs until beef is tender. Stir in pasta, cook covered 20 min.
-Uncover, cook 10 min until pasta is tender.
-Stir in cheese.
