This is a good recipe to have with biscuits, over rice, with or on bread or rolls. It's easy because you can cook it in a crock pot or pressure cooker.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 1/2 pounds stew meat - cut off fat and smaller then the way it is in the package.
  • 12 ounce can beer
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix - optional
  • 2 - 4 beef cubes
  • 1 cup water or enough water to cover meat or a little more.
  • cornstarch or flour and water to thicken after cooked.

Step 1

Put all ingredients except thickening ingredients into crock pot. For pressure cooker you will want to follow the directions of your pressure cooker for cooking beef.

Cook on high in crock pot for about 6 hours. Check for tenderness - it might be done sooner. For thickening you may need to put the beef 'n beer in a pot on the stove. Doesn't always get back to a boil in the crock pot. Serve with or over your favorite bread item or rice.
