French Onion Soup- The Dock

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 3 med onions chopped (4C)
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 T. flour
  • 1/3 c. red wine
  • 1/2 # domestic swiss cheese, sliced
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 envelope liption onion soup
  • 2 - 10 1/2 oz. beef boullion soup
  • 1 t. instant boullion

Preparation

Step 1

toast 6 slices in 400 over, 10 min until toasted
saute until onions are soft
stir in all but cheese
simmer 1 hour
Place bread in over proof soup bowls. Pour in soup. Top with 2-3 slices of cheese. Place bowls under brailer until cheese melts.
