  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 12 oz. sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz (2 cups) cooked macaroni
  • 1/2 tsp. hot pepper
  • dash pepper

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Melt butter over low heat. Add flour,mixing well until it comes to a paste. Whisk in warm milk and incorporate until well mixed and no lumps. Stir in heavy cream and simmer until low boil. Stir in 3/4 of cheese. Add cooked macaroni to cheese sauce. Butter 2 quart casserole dish. Pour macaroni mixture into casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes.
