- 5 lb pork shoulder
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 4 medium garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 3 TBS dark brown sugar
- 1 TBS chili powder
- 1 TBS kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup apple cider
- 1 TBS yellow mustard
- 1 TBS Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp thyme
- 2 cups barbecue sauce, optional
