Ingredients

  • 1 Tblsp. salt
  • 3 quarts boiling water
  • 8 oz. macaroni (2 c. uncooked)
  • 2 Tblsp. butter
  • 1 Tblsp. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 c. grated cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cook macaroni in boiling water and salt. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat; add flour, salt and mustard. Blend. Add milk and cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Sauce should not be thick. Add half of the grated cheese to sauce; stir until melted, then add cooked macaroni, mixing thoroughly. Pour mixture into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
