Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups milk (scant)
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 baked pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar, flour and salt. Stir in cold milk. Cook until thickened, about 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Add 3 beaten egg yolks. Cook 3 minutes. Add butter, vanilla and coconut.

Pour into pie shell and chill before serving.
