Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla OR 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 2 uncooked pie shells

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs. Add sugar and salt. Then add milk and vanilla OR nutmeg.

Strain into pastry shell. Sprinkle with coconut.

Bake at 450 deg. for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 deg. and bake for 20 minutes longer until custard is set.

Makes 2 pies.
