Ingredients

  • 5 pounds of apples, peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup currant jelly
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • Cinnamon to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Place jelly, sugar and water into medium saucepan over medium heat, stir until jelly melts. Remove from heat and add lemon juice. Pour over apples and top w/cinnamon as desired. Bake 1 hour or longer till apples become soft @ 350. Remove from oven, mash with fork until desired consistency.
