Ingredients
- 2 pounds cubed stewing beef
- 2 ounces beef fat
- 8 ounces onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 pint beef stock
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
- pinch brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- salt and pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Heat bacon fat in large saucepan. Add beef and fry until brown on all sides. Add onion and garlic and cook until transparent.
Sprinkle in flour and stir. Add stock, marjoram, caraway, sugar, paprika and season with salt and pepper. Cover tightly and cook gently for 2 hours.
