Ingredients

  • 6 Bartlett pears, cut in half and cored
  • 2 cups ruby port
  • 1 cup red wine (cabernet sauvignon or zinfandel)
  • 2 vanilla beans split in half
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1-2 cups white sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients and simmer, add pears and cook until tender and sauce reduces to a syrup. Chill pears and leave in liquid until needed.
