CARAMEL BANANA UPSIDE DOWN BREAD

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3-4 bananas
  • 1/2 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 1-2 bananas sliced

Preparation

Step 1

. spray the bottom of a loaf pan with nonstick bakers spray, line bottom with a piece of parchment cut to size, spray the top of parchment

. pour some caramel sauce onto the bottom of the lined pan and spread out evenly, place banana slices evenly one layer deep across the caramel sauce

. combine all dry ingredients except the sugar

. combine all the wet ingredients except the butter

. cream together the butter and sugar, add in the wet and dry ingredients in thirds, mix just to combine. pour into pan 2/3rds up the sides of pan

. bake until no longer wet in the middle, let cool for 10 minutes and invert onto a plate, remove parchment carefully, let cool completely before slicing
