Ingredients
- 15 ounces canned black beans , drained (1 can)
- 1 teaspoon canola oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/3 cup picante sauce, or fat free salsa
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Preparation
Step 1
1. Place beans in a bowl and partially mash with a fork. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saute 4 minutes. Add beans, tomato, picante sauce, cumin and chili powder; cook 5 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in cheese, cilantro and lime juice. Serve warm or at room temperature with baked tortilla chips.
