Tex-Mex Black Bean Dip

Ingredients
- 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 C chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 C diced tomato
- 1/3 C mild picante sauce
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 C shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/4 C chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 T fresh lime juice

Preparation
Step 1
Place beans in a bowl and partially mash until chunky
Heat oil in medium nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté 4 min or until tender. Add beans, tomato and next 3 ingreds. Cook 5 min or until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add cheese and remaining ingreds, stirring until cheese melts. Serve warm or at room temp with tortilla chips.
