Ingredients

  • 1 # ground lean pork
  • 1/2 # ground lean beef
  • 3 Tbsp chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/8 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cup mashed potatoes (2 med/large)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine pork, beef,onion,salt,pepper, and watere. Cook slowly for 45 minutes.
Add cloves and cinnamon; cook 15 minutes longer.

Add potatoes to meat mixture whilehot. Let cool thoroughly, or about 1 hour so flavors will blend. Turn mixture into pastry- lined 9" pie. Adjust top crust, cut vents and flute edges.

Bake in hot oven 400 for 45 minutes longer.
