Ingredients

    cup oleo

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1 2/3

    cups flour

  • 3/4

    cup buttermilk

  • 1 1/2

    teaspoons lemon peel

  • 1/2

    teaspoon soda

  • 1/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/3

    cup nuts

  • 3

    tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1

    tablespoon sugar

Directions

Grease bottoms and half way up sides of two 7 1/2 x 3 inch loaf pans. Beat oleo until soft. Add sugar and beat five minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes. Glaze with lemon juice and sugar.
