Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 tbs flour
  • dash of salt
  • 9 cups of thin sliced apples (about 8 apples)
  • 4 tbs of butter or margarine

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 425 degrees (try 400 with Pinterest apple crispy topping)
Combine sugar, cinnamon, salt and flour in a bowl
Add apples and toss
Put into pastry crust (in pie pan) and mount high in the center
Dot with butter
Cover with pie crust and slice holes on top
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.(10 thank extra minutes, 5 at a time check and cover with foil so it doesn’t burn but extra cooks apples)

*cover edges of pie with foil so it does not burn. Also, this pie is good with crumb topping from crumb cake recipe or even better with apple crisp topping from apple crisp Pinterest recipe. Put that topping instead of pie crust and bake -I think for same amount of time at 425 as just pie crust but cover with foil so it does not burn. Cover edges before baking
