Banana Cake

Ingredients
- 2 1/3 cups flour
- 1 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs

Preparation
Step 1
Mix dry ingredients together in mixing bowl. Add shortening, bananas and buttermilk; mix until flour is dampened. Then beat vigorously for two minutes. Add eggs and beat two more minutes. I use an electric mixer.
Spread batter into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round pans(or a 9x12).
Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
Cool completely before frosting.
