Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream the sugar and butter together. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the bananas and vanilla and mix until smooth.

Add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda, stirring until the mixture is just moistened. Add nuts.

Spoon into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, until it tests done.

Let cool in the pan 10 minutes before turning out.
