Ingredients

  • Icing:
  • 1 cup butter room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 21 oz. cherry pie filling
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. soft cream cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after adding each egg, add almond extract and vanilla, add flour and mix ingredients.
Gradually press 3/4 of the dough into a greased 9 X 13 pan, top with cherry pie filling. Sprinkle remaining dough over filling.
Bake at 40 -45 minutes in 375 deg. oven.

Mix icing ingredients together and drizzle over bars.
