  • 1 cup solid vegetable shortening
  • 1 teaspoon clear flavoring (vanilla, almond or butter)
  • 7 to 8 teaspoons (35 to 40 mL) of water (could be milk)
  • 1 tablespoon meringue powder
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt


Servings 3
Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 15mins


Step 1

In large bowl, cream shortening then add vanilla.

Dissolve salt in water and add to bowl.

Add dry ingredients and blend until combined.

Beat another 5 minutes or so until creamy.
