Ingredients

  • 9-inch pie crust, unbaked
  • 4 medium cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 T. flour
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 t. nutmeg
  • 1/8 t. salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line uncooked pie shell with apples.

Mix together cream, sugar, egg, flour, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt, stirring well after each ingredient is added. Pour over apple slices. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then sprinkle top with chopped nuts.

Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake until apples are tender, 40 to 45 minutes longer.
