Ingredients

  • 12 oz. penne pasta
  • 1 lb. ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 15 oz. Italian style tomato sauce
  • 14 1/2 oz. diced tomatoes with
  • Italian herbs
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste with roasted
  • garlic
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.

Cook meat and onion in skillet over medium-high heat, 5 minutes; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, tomato paste and 1/2 cup water; cook, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

Layer half pasta, half sauce and half cheese in 13" x 9" baking dish; repeat. Cover and bake in preheated 350 desgree oven for 20 minutes.
