    cups sugar

  • 5

    Tbsp flour (heaping)

  • 4

    c milk

  • 7

    egg yolks

  • 6

    Tbsp butter

  • 1

    Tbsp vanilla

  • 1

    c shredded coconut

  • 2

    unbaked pie shell

  • Meringue

  • 7

    egg whites

  • 7

    Tbsp sugar


Combine sugar and flour, add milk. Cook in double boiler until mixture is hot. Add beaten egg yolks. Cook until thick, you may use a mixer and beat while thickening to keep smooth. Remove from heat, add margarine, vanilla and coconut. Pour into unbaked pie shells, bake At 350 until filling is set. Meringue: Beat eggmwhites until frothy, add small amount of sugar, continue beating. Gradually add remaining sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over pie, sprinkle with coconut. Bake at 350 until golden brown.
