  • 1 garlic clove, peeled Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) grated Gruyere
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) whipping cream
  • 1 cup (250 mL) milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Rub a shallow, oval baking dish with garlic.
2. Slice potatoes as thinly as possible.
3. Mix cream and milk.
4. layer potatoes in the dish, sprinkling with half the cheese and half the milk. Top with remaining cheese, milk and a good pinch of salt. (At this point the dish can be frozen.)
5. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F (ISO°C) for 1 hour, until potatoes are cooked and top is crisp and golden.
