Broiled Japanese Eggplant

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp dark sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp honey or sugar
- 6 small Japanese eggplants, rinsed, stemmed, and cut in half lengthwise

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat Broiler
2. Combine fir 4 ingredients in a medium bowl and stir.
3. Arrange the eggplants, cut side up on a foil-lined baking sheet or roasting pan and distribute the marinade over them.
4. Broil until the eggplants begin turning dark adn are touched by charred spots, 6-8 minutes. Serve at once.
