Fresh Apple Cake

This cake gets a delicious crisp crust and stays very moist on the inside. One of my favorites that my mom made for us!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 cups oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (I add extra)
  • 2 cups apples (finely chopped) About 2 large

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first 4 ingredients. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk and add to egg mixture. Add other ingredients in order listed. Bake in a greased and floured tube or bundt pan. Or spray pan with pan spray. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing.
