  • 1 cup slivered almonds

This is my recipe for spaghetti sauce

  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb bulk sausage
  • 2 Tbsp dried peppers
  • 1-2 Tbsp dried onion
  • 2 Tbsp chopped or minced garlic
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes (28 oz each)
  • 2 cans tomato paste (12 oz each)
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (12 oz each)
  • 1 c ketchup
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • pepper to taste
  • dash or so of cayenne pepper

Dump shredded slaw into large bowl

  • Dressing ingredients:
  • 2 packages shredded cabbage or broccoli-wokli slaw mix
  • 1-2 cups diced, cooked chicken (totally optional)
  • 2-3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 8 tablespoons toasted slivered or sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup oil (such as safflower or sunflower)
  • 5 tablespoons white or rice vinegar (may substitute up to 2 tablespoons with apple cider vinegar)
  • 4 tablespoons sugar or fructose (raw sugar does not work well; needs to dissolve)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons soy sauce (to taste)
