1. Bring 2 quarts of salted water to a boil

- 1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts or 1 (10-ounce) package frozen Brussels sprouts, thawed
- 2 t. olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/8 t. ground nutmeg
- 1 T. sliced almonds, toasted
- 1 t. grated orange peel

- 12 ounces dried elbow macaroni (2-2/3 cups)
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper

- 8 ounces American cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (2 cups)
- 2 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (1/2 cup)
