  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1/2 cup dark raisins
  • 2 1/2 ounces dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons butter

  • 1/4 cup alcaparrado or coarsely chopped pimiento-stuffed olives

  • 4 cups long-grain rice
