- 8 TBSP flour
- 2-3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cans Veg-All (drained)
- Bisquick biscuit recipe or a can of biscuits
Thanksgiving Turkey Brine

I used this brine Thanksgiving 2013 - It was delicious and made a fabulous turkey
- Ingredients
- 6 quarts tap water
- 1 pound kosher salt
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 cups honey
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- Large bunch fresh thyme
- 2 heads garlic broken into individual cloves, unpeeled
- 5 pounds ice cubes
- 14 to 18-pound turkey, cleaned, innards removed
- 1 pound unsalted butter, softened
- 2 lemons, zested

- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 slices of bread or bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 TBSP rice
- 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
- 1 can 8oz tomato sauce
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 can water

- Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans
- 2 tablespoons bacon grease (can substitute 2 tablespoons butter)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth, plus more if needed
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt (can substitute regular tablesalt, use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)

- Cake:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup canola oil
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
- 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, plus more for garnish
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- One 15-ounce can pineapple rings, drained (reserve the liquid for the frosting) and chopped into 1/2-inch pieces

- 6 thin slices bacon, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 carrots, diced
- 2 shallots, finely minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- Splash red wine
- 4 cups beef broth to cover the ribs
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Cheese grits or regular grits, for serving
