Grandma Kirby's Meatballs and Gravy

Grandma Kirby's Meatballs and Gravy 0 Picture


  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 slices of bread or bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 TBSP rice
  • 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1 can 8oz tomato sauce
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 can water



Step 1

Mix all ingredients except 1/2 can tomato sauce. Form balls about the size of golf balls. Roll in flour and brown slowly in lightly greased (oil) skillet. Drain off oil. Add 1 can beef broth, 1 can water and 1/2 can tomato sauce. Simmer about 45 minutes covered. Thicken gravy with flour and water
