Spaghetti Sauce

Saute onions, green pepper, and garlic in oil until tender
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
- 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 large can tomatoes, (28 oz.)
Surprise Package Cookies

Cover and refrigerate mixture for 2 hours
- Cream together:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Then add:
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Combine in bowl and add to creamed mixture:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 65 mint andes candies
Hot Relish (Dick's Relish)

Combine chopped vegetables; sprinkle with salt
- Coarse grind the following 4 ingredients:
- 5 or 10 green tomatoes
- 5 green peppers
- 2 lbs. jalapeno peppers
- 3 large onions
- 3 tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. tumeric
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 2 1/2 cups cider vinegar
- 1 or 2 bay leaves
- small jar horseradish sauce
Sour Cream Cucumber Salad

In a large bowl, combine sour cream, sugar, vinegar, salt and dill
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. white vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dill weed
- 4 medium cucumbers, sliced
Mexican Smoked Turley Salad

Combine turkey, beans, corn, tomatoes, bell peppers, avocado and red onion in a bowl
- Dressing:
- 3 cups diced, cooked smoked turkey breast
- 1 15.5 oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 1/2 cups corn kernels
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced avocado
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
- 3 cups salad greens of your choice
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp. bottled, minced garlic
- 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Heath Bar Cake

Prepare cake as directed on box
- 1 german chocolate cake mix
- 1 can eagle brand milk
- 1 jar (Mrs. Richardson's) carmel or butterscotch ice cream topping
- 8 oz. cool whip
- heath bar pieces
Taco Salad

Spray a non-stick skillet with cooking spray and saute onion and garlic over medium high heat
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. bottled, minced garlic
- 1 lb. lean ground turkey or lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. cumin
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 1 (19 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 cups salsa
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 cups tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup black olives
- 1 cup low-fat shredded mexican cheese

Fudge

In order to get a really creamy tasting fudge, that is not gritty, only high quality ingredients should be used
- 5 cups white sugar
- 12 oz. can of evaporated milk
- 12 oz. jar marshmallow cream
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 22 oz. bag chocolate chips (butterscotch, mint chocolate or white
- chocolate can be used for a different taste)
- butter for greasing the dish
Scalloped Potatoes

Peel and cut potatoes and onion and put into baking dish along with the ham
- 6 potatoes
- 1 onion
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. season all salt

Beef, Barley, and Vegetable Soup

Put all ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours or on high for about 5 hours
- 1 cup beef, (ground beef, stew beef, and came picada all work well), browned
- 1/4 cup barley
- 1 cup beef stock or beef bouillon dissolved in hot water
- 2 cups tomatoes (V8 juice can also be used)
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 4 or 5 carrots, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- red potatoes, chopped
- 1 or 2 seasoned squash, chopped
- 1 cup fresh or frozen green beans
- chopped garlic to taste
- 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- juice of one large lemon (this is a great salt substitute in soups/stews)
- any other vegetables you want to use
