CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in small bowl; stir and let stand 1 minute to soften
- 1 tsp unflavored gelatin
- 1 Tbsp cold water
- 2 Tbsps boiling water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup heavy cream, very cold
EASY CHICKEN POT PIE

Heat oven to 400. Prepare crust for bottom
- Crust:
- 2 tablespoons firm margarine or butter
- 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Cut margarine into baking mix until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk until mixture begins to forms ball and cleans side of bowl. Pat on bottom and up to rim of ungreased pie plate, 9 x 1 ¼ inches. Bake 5 minutes.
- Pot Pie:
- Crust
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1-1/4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 1-1/2 cups cut-up cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
CHILI - Large recipe

Fry hamburger and onions, drain
- 4 pounds hamburger
- 2 30-oz. cans kidney beans, drained
- 2 28-oz cans cut-up tomatoes
- 3 large onions, chopped
- 1 garlic clove per pound of hamburger
- 3 tsp oregano
- 4 Tbsps chili powder
- 3 tsps cumin
- 2 29-oz cans tomato sauce
MAPLED PORK CHOPS

Mix onion, vinegar, water, syrup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, chili powder and pepper and pour over pork chops
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsps salt
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 3 (1-inch thick) pork chops
CARROT OATMEAL COOKIES

In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup shortening
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups shredded carrots
- 4 cups quick-cooking oats
- 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
GRILLED REUBENS

Preheat indoor grill. Drain sauerkraut well on paper towels
- 2 cups jarred sauerkraut
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 8 slices rye or marble rye bread
- 12 ounces thinly-sliced deli corned beef or pastrami
- 6 ounces Swiss cheese
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup prepared Thousand Island dressing
- Deli coleslaw and 4 kosher garlic pickle spears for serving.
RED LEAF SALAD WITH HONEY VINAIGRETTE

Divide torn lettuce among 4 salad plates
- 4 cups torn red leaf lettuce
- 1 orange, peeled, sliced crosswise, and halved
- 1 apple, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1/2 of a small cucumber, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsps toasted chopped walnuts
- 1 recipe honey vinaigrette

SWEET-POTATO CASSEROLE

- 4 pounds sweet potatoes (5 large) peeled and cut crosswise into 3/4-inch thick slices
- 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
