- CAKE:
- 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter, preferably at room temperature for easiest mixing

Amish Ham Salad

Shred the baby swiss cheese
- 1 lb chopped ham, strips or small cubes
- 3/4 lb baby swiss, finely shredded
- 1 1/2 - 2 c sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
- 1 Tbsp dill weed
- 2 - 3 tsp caraway seeds
- 2 - 4 Tbsp horseradish sauce (depending on taste)
- 1/3 - 1/2 c mayonnaise dressing
- Salt & pepper to taste
Purple Ombre Sprinkles Cake

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease whatever 18cm round cake tins you have
- For the cake:
- 355 g plain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 225 ml milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 400 g caster sugar
- 225 g unsalted butter, softened
- 4 medium eggs
- Purple food colour
- Jam to spread between layers (blackcurrant jam, grape or strawberry, or double the amount of icing and use that)
- For the icing:
- 500 g icing sugar sifted (easiest way to sift is by pulsing in a food processor)
- 275 g salted butter (about 2.5 sticks)
- Extra table salt to taste
- Optional: sprinkles to decorate
