- 1 or 2 large white onions (1 1/3-2 pounds), each cut lengthwise into

- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, plus a few sprigs for garnish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 oz (3/4 cup) coarsely grated Gruyere cheese

- 1/2 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 1 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 3/4 cups frozen French-style green beans
- 5 Tablespoons shredded Italian cheese blend, divided
- 5 Tablespoon French-fried onions, divided
- 1/4 cup sour cream

Beef Stroganoff (Mom's)
