- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

Make the Crumbs: Melt the butter in a small pot, over low heat

- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar (I used light)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- Donuts:
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or a few scratches of fresh nutmeg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
