1. Heat oven to 375°F. 2
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (10-ounce) package mini milk chocolate caramel-filled candies, unwrapped, cut in half

- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup mixed candied fruits
- 1/4 cup orange juice or rum
- SPONGE
- 1 tablespoon + 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry or instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon mace
- 2 tablespoons grated lemon rind
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- DOUGH
- sponge from above
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons salt
- raisin/fruit mixture from above
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 5 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- FILLING
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Combine all ingredients in spray bottle and shake well to mix
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 tablespoon liquid castile soap (buy it here)
- 8 drops sweet orange essential oil (find 100% pure essential oils here)
- 4 drops cedarwood essential oil
- 4 drops lemon essential oil
- 4 oz. spray bottle with fine mister (find amber or cobalt glass bottles here – they will prevent essential oils from degrading when exposed to light and won’t react with the oils like plastic can – find fingertip misters here)
