Bananas Foster

In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 1/2 tablespoons rum
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise and crosswise
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (I like toasted pecans)
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Best French Toast

1.In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk together half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 3 large egg
- 2 tbsp honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds
- 1 ⁄4 tsp salt
- 8 slice (1/2 inch) day-old or stale country loaf, brioche or challah bread

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

1.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil
- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 pound portobello mushrooms, diced
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 (15 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
Blueberry Clafouti

- 3 cups blueberries

Country-Style Steak

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 pound beef cube steaks

Put the onion, jalapeno, and garlic in a food processor and finely chop
- Avocado Salsa:
- 1 small onion, quartered
- 1 jalapeno, quartered, seeds optional
- 1 garlic clove, smashed
- 4 medium tomatillos, (about 8 ounces) husked, rinsed, and coarsely chopped
- 1/2 Hass avocado, peeled, seeded, and cut into chunks
- 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/4 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves, coarsely chopped
- Shrimp:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chipotle or blended chili powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt

- 3 1/2 cups milk, or more, as needed
- 2 russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
