Sweet Italian Sausage Pasta Sauce

This hearty pasta sauce is full of flavor
- 1 1/2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage links
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 15-oz can tomato sauce
- 1 Tablespoon oregano
- 1 Tablespoon. basil
- 2 teaspoon thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Tawra's Waffles & Honey Syrup

Heat waffle iron. Beat eggs in a medium bowl until fluffy
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil, margarine or butter, melted
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 2/3 cups milk

- 1 cup sugar

- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 9-inch shallow unbaked pie shell

Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

1. Coat beef with four, shaking off excess
- 1 pound lean beef chunk, trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced (about 3 cups)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons reduced-sodium tomato paste
- 2 cups reduced-sodium beef broth
- 4 cups sliced carrots
- 2 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup 1-inch green bean pieces
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Lunchbox Applesauce Cake

If you’re looking for an easy cake that tastes great and makes the house smell good, here it is
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour, measured after sifting
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 4 oz (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups applesauce
- 1/2 cup golden raisins (or use a mix of regular and golden)
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
- Powdered sugar, optional
BBQ Ranch Chicken Quesadillas

A couple of weeks ago we had Cheesy Tex-Mex Chicken that I served with tortillas
- 2 Fajita size tortillas
- 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce per quesadilla
- 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing per quesadilla
- Grilled Chicken (cajun or plain), cut into strips (see note above)
- Sprinkle of dried cilantro (use fresh if you have it)
- 1/2 cup of cheese per quesadilla (more or less if you’d like). I used a combo of sharp cheddar and spicy pepper jack cheese
