Chocolate-Granola Apple Wedges

If you are seeking a healthy dessert for kids, this is a great idea
- 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup low-fat granola without raisins
- 1 large Braeburn apple, cut into 16 wedges
- (If you can't find Braeburn apples, Gala or Fuji varieties also stand up to dipping and add a touch more sweetness.)
Classic Sausage-and-Pepper Grill

For a hearty one-dish meal, grill turkey sausage along with potato, onion, and colorful bell peppers
- Cooking spray
- 1 pound red potatoes quartered
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt divided
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper divided
- 1 red onion peeled and cut in half crosswise
- 4 red bell peppers quartered
- 2 yellow bell peppers quartered
- 5 (3-ounce) turkey Italian sausage links
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh oregano
Apple Pie (Shelly's)

This is my own personal recipe derived from a great deal of testing (and eating!)
- Crust:
- 2 2/3 cups flour – sifted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (or 1 stick) well-chilled shortening (Crisco, e.g.)
- 6-10 Tbs cold water
- Filling:
- Apples - Granny Smith + Braeburns (about 3 lbs total, 6 large or 9 medium)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 TB flour
- 1 TSP cinnamon
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- Pinch of ground ginger
- 1 TB butter
- Melted Butter
- 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
- Sugar for dusting top of pie
