Cookies: Gingerbread Cookies

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg, and whisk them together
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup dark molasses
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon maple extract
- Special equipment: an assortment of cookie cutters

- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can (15 oz.) canned pumpkin
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Biscuits: Blueberry Biscuits

Position a rack in the center of the oven and heat the oven to 450°F
- Biscuits:
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. table salt
- 1/3 Cup sugar
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable shortening or lard, well chilled and cut into small chunks
- 2 Tbsp. salted butter, well chilled and grated on a box grater
- 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbs. buttermilk
- 3 oz of blueberries (fresh or dried)
- Melted Butter (for muffin tops after baking)
- Glaze:
- 1 Cup of powdered sugar
- 1/8 Cup of water
- 1 tsp of vanilla
- 1/2 tsp of lemon juice
Crab Salad

Cook spaghetti per package instructions
- One Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix Packet
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon milk
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 2 (10 oz.) containers of crab meat, rinsed
- 2 bunches of green onions (sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Amazing Romaine Salad

For the dressing, combine all the ingredients except the poppy seeds in a blender and process until combined
- Vinaigrette:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup white vinegar (maybe reduce vinegar a bit)
- 1/3 cup avocado oil, olive oil or vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
- Candied Nuts:
- 1 cup chopped nuts (like walnuts, pecans or almonds)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Small pinch of salt and cayenne pepper (maybe a bit more salt if nuts were unsalted)
- Salad:
- 2 heads of romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup feta or Parmesan cheese
- 6-8 strips bacon, cooked and chopped or crumbled
- 1/2 - 1 cup dried cranberries or cherries
Chicken Pot Pie

Sauté carrots and celery in a small amount of olive oil until softened
- Gravy:
- 2 9-inch pie shells, unbaked
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 2 medium, russet potatoes (cooked, cooled, peeled & diced)
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 celery stock, diced
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 Tbsp. - 1/4 cup butter
- 3 Tbsp. - 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp. chicken bouillon
- 1/8 tsp. rubbed sage, dried thyme, dried tarragon, onion powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste (approx. 1/2 tsp. salt & 1/4 tsp. pepper--more if using potatoes)
Penne with Roasted Asparagus and Balsamic Butter

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
- Roasted Asparagus:
- 1 to 2 pounds fresh asparagus spears
- 1/2 to 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse, kosher
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Balsamic Reduction:
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon light or dark brown sugar
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse, kosher salt
- Pasta:
- 1 pound penne pasta, regular or whole wheat
- 4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces (see note above about browning the butter)
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

- 1 t apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1/3 C canola oil
- 1/2 t vanilla extract (could possibly increase vanilla extract)
- 2 t rootbeer extract (could possibly reduce rootbeer extract)
- 1 1/3 C flour
- 3/4 t baking soda
- 1/2 t baking powder
- Pinch of Salt
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1/4 C butter
- 4 C powdered sugar
- 1.5 t cream soda extract (I used 1 t vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon root beer extract)
