Dry Rub for BBQ

- 2 tab. garlic powder
- 2 tab. paprika
- 1 tab. onion powder
- 1 tab. celery salt
- 1 tab. sugar
- 1 1/2 teas. turmeric
- 1/2 teas. ground red pepper
- 1/2 teas. freshly ground pepper

Basil Oil

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup ice cubes with 1 cup water
- 2 oz. fresh basil leaves (about 2 cups packed)
- 3/4 cup canola, grapeseed or other vegetable oil

- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teas. salt
- 1 cup of cornflakes crumbs
Sangria

In a large pot or bowl, combine the wine, brandy, orange juice, and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves
- 2 bottles, chilled dry red wine, Beaujolais
- 1 cup brandy
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup superfine granulated sugar
- 2 oranges, cut into thin rounds
- 1 lemon, cut into thin rounds
- 1 lime, cut into thin rounds
- 2 apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch chunks
- 2 pear, cored and cut into 1/2 inch chunks
- 2 cups cold lemon-lime flavored or club soda

Grilled Mushroom Risotto

Heat stock in a saucepan and keep it on a low simmer
- 6 1/3 cup chicken stock
- Handful dried Porcini mushroom
- Olive oil
- 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 sticks celery, traimmed and finely chopped
- 14 oz. risotto rice
- 2/3 cup vermouth or white wine
- sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 4 large handfuls wild mushrooms (try chanterelles, shiitake, black trumpet or oyster- definitely no button mushrooms, please!) cleaned and sliced
- Few springs fresh chervil, tarragon or parsley, leaves picked and chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 tab. butter
- 2 handfuls freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Extra-virgin olive oil
Sausage and Lentil Soup

Combine carrots, onion, celery, garlic, kielbasa and lentils in slow cooker
- 2 med. size carrots, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 7 oz. turkey kielbasa (from a 14 oz. package), cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 1/4 cups (from a l lb. bag) lentils, rinsed and picked over
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 3 loosely packed cups baby spinach
- 1/2 teas. salt
- 1/4 teas. pepper

Parmesan Herb Bread

Preheat oven at 350. In a small bowl, combine sour cream, milk, and butter; set aside
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 tab. butter, melted
- 2 1/2 cup all flour
- 1 tab. sugar
- 1 teas. baking soda
- 1/2 teas. salt
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tab. minced onion
- 2 teas. Italian seasonings
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- Additional Parmesan cheese and Italian seasonings
Shrimp and wild rice Casserole

- 1 can, cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tab. chopped green pepper
- 2 tab. chopped onion
- 2 tab. butter, melted

- 1/2 teas. worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teas. black pepper
- 1 1/2 cup shredded reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 pkg. of Uncle Ben's long grain wild rice, cook according to pkg.
