  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 TBSP corn syrup
  • 1 envelope custard powder
  • 1/4 cup cold water

  • 8 oz whole wheat baguette
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup canned plum tomatoes, drained really well and roughly chopped

  • 1 lb lean ground meat
  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapenos, drained and chopped plus 1 TBSP brine
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 TBSP sour cream
  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • crispy tortilla strips (optional)
