Crisp Tuna-Cabbage Salad

Shred the tuna with a fork and mix thoroughly with the cabbage
- One 5-ounce can tuna, drained
- 2 cups finely chopped green or red cabbage, from about 4 ounces or 1/4 of a small head of cabbage
- 1/4 cup minced chives, from about 1/4 ounce chives
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

Tuna Curry

- 1/2 onion, minced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced gingerroot
- 1/2 teaspoon hot Madras curry powder
- 3 (6-ounce) cans tuna packed in spring water, drained
- 1 to 2 green serrano or jalapeno chilies, stemmed, seeded and minced, or to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 lemon or lime, juiced
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste

- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (30 ounce) can chickpeas, drained & rinsed

- 2 tablespoons fresh Italian parsley, finely chopped
