Whole Wheat Braids

There’s nothing like fresh bread to complete a meal
- 3 packages (1/4 oz. each) active dry yeast
- 2 cups warm water (110°-115°)
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 Tbls. salt
- 5 cups whole wheat flour
- 4 5o 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Crescent Layer Bars

"Flaky dessert bars stacked with chocolate and cashews
- 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® Crescent Recipe Creations® refrigerated seamless dough sheet
- 1 cup white vanilla baking chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup cashew halves and pieces
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
Cookie No Dough Ice Cream

1.In a small saucepan, melt the butter until it’s a deep golden brown color
- ■1 cup chopped dark chocolate, or 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- ■2/3 cup dark brown sugar
- ■4 large egg yolks
- ■2 t pure vanilla extract
- ■2 cups half and half
- ■1 1/2 cups whole milk*
- ■3 T unsalted butter
- ■pinch of salt
- Use whole milk! I used skim because that’s what I had on hand and it was a bit icy instead of creamy. I learned my lesson.
Snickerdoodle Oatmeal

In a large Pyrex-type measuring cup, combine the flakes with about 1 and 1/2 cups liquid
- ■1 and 1/2 servings oats (or other grain) (60g)
- ■1 tsp cinnamon
- ■a little over 1/4 tsp salt
- ■1/2 to 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (I use 1/2 tsp)
- ■2 tbsp milk of choice (plus extra if you cook your cereal in milk)
- ■Sweetener to taste (sugar, stevia, agave, etc.)
Teriyaki Chicken Recipe I

When my granddaughter, Alicia Fie, married James Reeves, our family served this flavorful chicken over rice
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup chili sauce
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 3 tablespoons white vinegar
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
- 24 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 6 ounces each)
- Toasted sesame seeds

- 1 cup butter, softened

- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Balsamic Roast Chicken

- 1 roasting chicken (6 to 7 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary or 2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 medium red onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup dry red wine or reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

- Ingredients for pouring sauce:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons gluten free tamari (or regular soy sauce if you’re not concerned about gluten)
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon hot water
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Ingredients for stir-fry sauce:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
- Ingredients for chicken stir-fry:
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed to 1/2″
- 1 – 8oz can sliced water chestnuts, minced to the size of corn kernals
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, minced to the size of corn kernals
- 1/2 onion, chopped fine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced fine
- 6 large leaves of iceberg lettuce or nappa cabbage
- To make the pouring sauce:
- 1 .In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup warm water, then add soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ketchup, lemon juice and sesame oil. Mix well and throw in the fridge until you’re ready to eat.
- 2 .Just before serving, combine 1 teaspoons hot water with dijon mustard and garlic and mix in small bowl. Add to the pouring sauce, 1/2 a teaspoon at time to taste.
