- make sure valve is clear
- remove by pressing down on the valve then turn it to
- align the symbol 'dot'
- make sure ceramic burner top is clean
- always put at least 2 cups of liquid in cooker
- for steam cooking: 6 cups
- place the steam basket on top of the trivet
- Always bring up to pressure before starting the timer
